Mineral Town, During the Age of Magick and Knights

Heya Folks, this is my first RPG about the characters from Harvest Moon, More Friends from Mineral Town, but it would be set in the Medieval ages. However, just to make it more fun, I decided to mix in a few things of fantasy. Feel free to go overboard with magic, as long as it's tied in to the story! ^^

Okay, I designed the characters to be more medieval-ish. You can play as them and do anything with them as you please.

The Characters

Ann: Daughter of Sir Doug, loves horses and often rides like a boy in secret.
Anna: A lady of the court, wife of Sir Basil.
Basil: A loyal knight of the order, but is very scholarly and likes to study nature.
Cliff: Travelling street performer, who later takes a part-time job as a squire.
Elli: Assistant cook of the kitchen.
Kai: A travelling foreigner that makes his living selling foreign riches (eg. spices, silk, etc.)
Maria: Daughter of Anna and Basil, was sent to the Nunnery to be educated.
Rick: son of a poor family of freemen chicken farmers, has dreams of becoming an inventor and tirelessly works on his revolutionary ideas in his free time.
Popuri:Sister of Rick,does an extra job of selling flowers for more money, to buy medecine for Lillia.
Lillia:the sickly mother of Popuri and Rick.
Manna: Anna's lady-in waiting, also her best friend.
Sacha: Wife of a valuable merchant, dresses up as a noblewoman since she always wanted to be one.
Karen: Daughter of Sacha and Jeff, also the only one who knows about Rick's dreams, and tries to help him whenever she can.
Doctor: A mysterious medicus (a strange doctor) who tries to help Lillia using the most modern and quirky medecines.
Barley: A medecine man of traditional methods, he is favoured by the king.
Doug: Also a knight, he manages the stables of the King's most treasured horses. Also likes to plan banquets and meals.
Gotz: A lone huntsman that sells his kill in the market.
Duke: Manna's husband, he's a lesser noble that was gifted with one of the most fertile lands, and uses them as a vineyard.
Saibara: A blacksmith of great skill.
Gray: The apprentice of Saibara, and his grandson. Although he much prefers to be a swordmith.
Won: A relic merchant and a con.
Zack: A local sheriff and tax-collector, tries to look rough and tough, but has a soft spot for gentle, pink-haired women.
Gourmet: A glutton of the court, performs duties of tasting food in cooking festivals, also tastes the king's food in case of poison, and provides entertainment by eating anything.
Ellen: Grandmother of Elli and Stu, used to be the late queen's lady-in-waiting.
Stu: An apprentice of Barley's, and best friends with May.Also respects Doctor and wants to be like him.
May:Granddaughter of Barley, dreams of being a princess.
Kappa: An under-water demon who prowls on the citizens, and needs to be destroyed.
Harvest Goddess: The...Harvest Goddess.
Harvest Sprites: Same as before.
Carter: A local and poor Priest, who sympathises with Cliff.
Harris: Another member of the order of the round table, who feels that anything that goes on the castle is his responsibility.
The Mayor: King and ruler of the castle, is pretty oblivious to problems and often tries to arrange events of entertainment.
Jack:(The playable character in the game) A freemen farmer descended from a family of a fallen nobles, tries to earn his keep in his grandfather's abandoned farmland.
Jill: (Also the playable characterin the game) Ran away from her family to avoid her womanly duties, and is in disguise as a boy. Works as an assistant of Jack.


Although, if you don't want to play as them, you can make your own characters and interact with them.

Okay, here's the setting:
Springtime has finally arrived in Minieral town (Yes, there are towns in the medieval ages). During the harsh winter, the town was in constant threat with rumours of bandits lurking in the dense forests, as well as pirates casting anchors in the nearby beach. Due to these rumours of danger, the citizens had taken refuge to the king's castle, until it was finally clear that the danger was past. Now, the people has finally rebuilt their lands, and is now getting ready for the celebration of the King's birthday. The whole town was full of talk on the great feasts that will take place, as well as dancing and contests such as jousting.
However, just a few days before the great celebration, something monstrous had arrived in the outskirts of Mineral town!
Tales of a supernatural water-demon lurkning in the waters and devouring the King's subjects casted a dark shadow in the land.
And so, the king has decided to ask every able-bodied man to be summoned to his castle, and take part in a series of tests in order to call himself worthy of a warrior to defeat the evil water-demon.

Right, you can be a warrior or just interact with the characters, and witness the whole thing happening.

If you want to design and be your own character, you must post a character bio.

Here's an example:

Name: Rasine
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Race: A changeling (a fairy child that replaced a human child who was stolen by fairies), but disguises the fact, whenever she could.
Class: Nun, one of the teachers of Maria.
Description: Has black hair ried in a rope braid, also has green eyes. Often wears her uniform, and wears quite a collection of rosary bead neclaces.
Personality: Shy and nervous towards strangers, and interacts better with guys rather than girls. She is also very sharp in mind and likes to spend time in the library.
Pets(optional): Has none, but has an interest with rabbits.
Why was she here: To perform her duties as a nun by teaching another of the morals of christianity.
Once you're your own character and start interacting with the other characters, you can also build relationships with them. You can court with the original male characters of the game and, if you wish, marry them. However, as always, you must keep in mind of the rules in this RPG.

1. Thou shalt not speaketh like this: OMFG, WTF I feel so wastd g2g.
2. Thou shalt refrain from writing scenes on the act of intercourse.
3. Thou shalt not pick fights with fellow players because (eg. one hates Kai while one does not.)
4. Thou shalt not insult one another.
5. Thou shalt not write disturbing and sick stories.
6.Thou shalt not swear (If you can with all these censoring).
7. You can only produce ONE character, one!

Name: Serela Leene Midnight.
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Race: She a mix of witch and fairy, and from the same "family" as the Harvest Goddess.
Class: I'll explain later... in the story.
Description: Long black hair, that reaches the floor and she usually keeps in a ponytail. She has a pretty face. Her eyes change their colors. She usually wears necklaces, earring or rings. Her clothes change everyday.
Weapon: A sword and a knife.
Personality: Very shy with strangers. Usually acts sweet, caring and kind, but can be dark and sometimes mean.
Pets(optional): None.
Story: Okay, the story! She's a princess. Her father was son of a witch and a black magician((Meh, a... male witch...)), a queen and a king. Her mother was daughter of two fairies, a queen and a king too. They were in love, but it was against the rules that a fairy and mix of magician/witch were in love. Anyway, they ran away from their castles and got married. They had a daughter, Serela. But Serela's father's parents thought that Serela's mother's parents kidnapped their son, and Serela's mother's parents thought that Serela's father's parent kidnapped their daughter. Soon, they was a war between them, spo they had to go back to their houses, but couldn't go with the baby, so they left her in a basket, in a farm. Serela, at that moment, was two years old. She could hide her wings. A couple found her in a basket in their farm, and adopted her. They didn't know she was a mix of witch and fairy. She grew up normally. She doesn't know her powers, but <<someday>> will realize that she has them. She doesn't know too much about her parents, nor her, she only knows that she's a princess, because her parents wrote a letter for her.

Name: Normina Barlas
Gender:Female
Age: 17
Race: Human
Class: Patrol guard, also a part-time mercenary
Weapon: A small axe which was strapped to her left side, but preferably likes to use a bow and a pack of arrows.
Description: Has short blonde hair and light blue eyes. She is often seen wearing a green tunic and a pair of beige leggings. She also wears a thin breast plate, metal shoulder pads and knee pads. Along with all that, she wears leather shoes without heels.

Her Story: Normina was a daughter of a thieving wildman and a burley huntress, and lived most of her life at the outskirts of the town. She lived a kind of life which was bittersweet, it was a hard lifestyle but it was good to her, until she found that her father had died young. She found out that her father was in fact, a feral child (someone raised by animals) who grew up amongst the wolves and never had a lifestyle which was healthy for a human. Much later on, her own mother died in mysterious circumstances; some say she died from the Kappa, while others say from bandits. Whicever the story, Normina's usually strong and resourceful mother was brutally murdered by something, and had ever since dedicated her life to hunting down outlaws and problem creatures.

Personality: She's got alot of nerve and spunk. The good side about her is that she can do her job well. She is confident, funny, friendly and knows how to serve bleak justice when needed. The bad side of her is her usual violent manner, where she has a habit of beating the heck out of someone and ask questions later, she is also loud, sometimes scary, and can make herself look like a total fool. She also never lets anyone to see her weak side, and often keeps herlself from being frightened at danger by laughing at it.
Pets(optional): None...so far.

Alright, I guess I'll start:

"Hear ye!Hear ye!" The messanger called out, summoning the nearby townspeople by the sound of his booming voice, and the ringing of the brass bell his hand gripped on.

His very presence in Rose Square got the attention of a growing handful of people, from dishevelled farmers from the south, to the well-groomed upper-classes from the north. They huddled around him like clucking hens, unleashing waves of gossips and questions.

Behind him, a group of voluntary locals were strapping on a poster on to the bulletin board, piercing the rough piece of parchment on to the soft wooden board with pins.

When they were finished doing this task the messanger continued:

"The King and Prince Harris has chosen this event to tell their humble subjects, of what is to be done for the ferocious demon that inhabits the forest!"
Thrusting a chubby finger at the new poster, he declared:
"Take in mind that for now on, the forest is off-limits to anyone without permission. Also, the gracious King asks to summon every able-bodied warrior to his domain, in order to find the man to do the task to slay the demon!"
A few cheers were emitted from his audience, while a few exclamations of "Finally!" or anything similar were shouted.
Nevertheless, the messanger managed to drown the noises the crowd was making.
"The Order of the Round Table are setting up a contest of strength and worthiness for all those who wish to partake the challenge, it shall be held at late noon in two weeks time, at this very area!"
The messanger rubbed his parched throat and took a swig of water from his small leather container. Clearing his throat, he concluded;
"If one wishes to find more information, they shall be very welcome to contact the ranger to do so. At the meantime, refrain from entering the woods!"

Serela walked around the town. She was dressed in a red dress, really pretty one.
She heard some voices, but wasn't sure what they said.
'Huh... The said something about the woods, maybe... Entering the woods?' She thought.

Spring, 10:13 am

The town's Inn, also known as The Colorful Wineskin, The inn has been charitably provided from Sir Doug, intended for all those that needed some hospitality.
Still standing, the old inn is now full of gossiping travelers and drunk locals, all waiting for the morning meal...and their sinful brews.

Gotz the lone huntsman was a rare customer himself, for he disliked the loud and alien environment, rather unlike being under the canopy of the trees, which he looked at as his home.
Nevertheless, he walked over to the front door and pushed the strong oak wood aside, baring a sight of the inside of the inn.

The hall was dark with unlit torches and very few windows, casting dark hazy shadows in certain corners of the room. However, the room still seem alive with people. People of all classes crowded around each of the tables, slamming down drinks, chewing on foodstuffs, gambling and buzzing with talk.

With almost animal-esque eyes, the huntsman scanned the room, and found what he was looking for.
In a dark corner of the room, he found Normina Barlas, hunched over a lone table.
The girl still looked rather sleepy, her short blonde hair looked like a rat's nest, and she stared down at her clay cup, almost as if in a daze.

Walking over to the table, he sidled on an unsteady stool opposite to her, and snapped his fingers in front of her.
As a sharp click was produced at this effect, the girl shot back in response, her blue eyes wide with alertness.
Seeing who it was, Normina screwed up her face and glared at him.
"Oh, whaddaya want?" She asked.
Gotz could smell the bitter scent of beer from her breath and spoke slowly, trying not confuse her now that she isn't exactly as sober as a bird.
"Have you been to this morning's assembly, Normina?"
Normina snorted, "Nah~. They're always too early--" She hiccupped and exclaimed a small chuckle, "'Sides,they always say useless stuff. Remember how last week they talked about the scores of the last jousting?"
"That was three weeks ago, and you enjoyed the gory details."
The young girl before him smiled devilishly as she took another sip from her cup, gulping the burning alcohol down, she asked, "So, what did they say this time?"
Looking down on the table, Gotz found a half-finished breakfast of eggs and bacon, along with a half-opened bag of cheese and an old loaf of dried bread, with a sharp knife with its tip embedded on the grimy table.
His stomach clenched and grumbled, so he grabbed a strip of the fatty meat and chewed on it. It felt cold and undercooked, but it was food.

Seeing this, the young guard pulled off her knife from the table and dug it into the hard cheese, roughly creating a crumbling slice of the cheese.
Ripping off a huge chunk of bread, she placed the cheese on it and crammed it in her mouth, waiting for a response as she chewed on her food.
Finished with the salty meat, he took a sip and allowed the sour beverage to drown the dry feeling in his throat.
Feeling more refreshed than before, he continued;
"Well, today they were talking about killing the Kappa. The Order are setting up a contest to see who's man enough to take the job." He looked into the eyes of young girl, "Thought you'd be interested." He admitted.
Normina shrugged her small shoulders, "I am!" She admitted cheerfully, to Gotz, she seemed to be more awake by the minute.
Taking the cup from his hands, she drained the drink with a few gulps and called out loudly to the bartender, "OY! Gimme a refill of your beer, Old man!"
Gotz couldn't hear what the old bartender said, but he took it it was not pleasant to hear anyway, and so paid no heed to it.

Turning her attention back on Gotz, she asked, "So, is that why you're here? Spreading the word?"
The huntsman smiled wryly and replied, "I wondered if that would get your idle behind off the barstool. Anyways, I am therefore forbidden from entering the woods."
"Oh? Why's that?"
"The Order made the woods an unsafe area. I couldn't enter the woods anymore because if I get in danger, I can't expect any help or rescue."
"Aahh, that's bull! As if those rich lunkheads can't say anymore stupid things. You depend on the woods, man, as do many of the poor. I mean, where else can they find food anyways?"
Gotz shrugged, "As they say: One law for the rich, another for the poor. Besides, I gotta go and find a room here. Will you be alright paying the check?"
"Nnh.I wouldn't order if I didn't have enough anyway. See you around."
Gotz nodded and replied, "Be careful."

Serela finally found the Inn. She opened the doors carefully, and walked in. She looked around, and turned around to close the door. But they closed when she turned around, like she closed them with magic.
"Huh? Strange..." She said, and turned around.

Spring, 10:14 am

After watching Gotz coming upstairs to recieve his room, Normina stood up and began clearing up.
She could have stayed and continue to harass the overworked bartender for more drinks...but she no longer felt thirsty for a cup of grogg.
Wrapping up her bread and cheese, she stuffed them inside her kit bag, making sure that the crumbs won't spill over all the other stuff she placed in there. When her hand was in the bag, she took the oppurtunity to take out her wallet and scattered a few copper coins on the table. After this, she plucked out her knife and used her tunic to wipe the smudges off the blade, and place it in a pouch from within the bag, which contains all the other weaponries.

After she tied the bag tightly closed, she stood at her full height and stretched, feeling some parts of her body creak and pop.
However, as she did so, she noticed a new face from within a crowd.
Out of all the rowdy and roguish looking characters that usually inhabit the room, the newbie was a picture of an intellegent and well-dressed girl.
What's a girl like her doing here? She thought.

Serela looked at all the people.
'Huh... Lots of people...' She thought, and sat on a chair. She didn't say anything, just sat there, looking at her hands.

Spring, 10:16 am

"Do ye want to order something?"
Normina Barlas was about to leave when she heard a familiar voice. Looking up, she saw what she expected; Trouble.

The new girl had been previously sitting behind one of the Inn's empty tables, but now she is being confronted by somebody that had always brings the blood in her body to boil...

Looking up from her hands, Serela found herself staring into the face of a friendly peasant woman, whose brown wrinkly face was flashed into a friendly smile.
She looked like a moorish woman in her middle ages. Serela could see that beneath that colorful scarf the woman was wearing, she had a fine mass of dark curly hair, and the tanned skin was unlike any of the pale inhabitants of Mineral Town.

Serela smiled good-naturedly at the woman, and was about to tell the friendly woman that she wasn't interested in buying food when a frightening shadow befell them.

Right behind the middle-aged woman; a tall and slender girl stood menacingly. The girl was dressed in an attire only fit for those in constant combat, wearing light-weight fabrics with weapons strapped on her side.
Serela could see the girl's lips curled back into an ugly snarl, and was thus struck dumb by the girl before her.

"Looking for fresh meat, Ada?" The girl growled.
Ada swivelled around to meet the girl, and her face was contorted with shock. Suddenly, the girl's hand shot out and gripped on Ada's collar, and pulled her up till their noses were almost touching.
"I know this Inn is off-limits to the likes of you, and you know it!" The girl hissed these words to Ada, her face resembling that of a snake.

"Hey! Wait a minute..." Serela cried out, getting up from her chair she stood in front of the girl.
"She wasn't doing much harm, alright? She's probably just working..."
The girl didn't seem to take much interest of Serela's reasoning, but rolled her eyes and dropped the woman.
"Beat it!" She screamed at the woman.
In response to her ill treatment, Ada didn't need to hear it twice, and so bolted out of the building.

"What do you think you're doing? Who are you to come here bullying the workers here!" Serela confronted the girl, feeling angry that such a mean thing had happened to such a friendly woman, and how nobody else took action because of it.

Crossing her arms, the girl looked at her in a confused manner, and finally asked, "You haven't been around here very much, have you?"
Serela shrugged, "I haven't been here very often."

"Hm."
"Well?Explain yourself!"

The girl shook her head sadly. The very image annoyed Serela, and she glared at her angrily, her mind racing on what to do with this bully.
After a long silence, the girl finally spoke:

"Miss, that woman is a long-time criminal. Ask the sheriff if you don't believe me...but take in mind, people like her are nothing but parasytic crooks that make a living on stealing. When I saw her talking to you, I assumed she was gonna make you believe that she was a waitress, and once you pay for you 'meal', she'll run off with the money."
The girl shifted the kit bag on her back, and turned away from her, "Just be careful next time, okay? Treachery wears many masks."

[Maddie]

"Yeah..." Serela said, and sat down on her chair again, with nothing to do. She looked at the door, that was open, and sighed. The door closed, and Serela was surprised. She standed up, and looked at the people, that were now looking at her.
"Er... A magic door!" She said, this time not knowing what to say next. She closed the door? Maybe.

Normina had just passed through the door when it slammed abruptly behind her, the wood brushing against her back as it closed itself.
The young guard yelped and jumped away from it. Looking over her shoulder, she stared hard at the door, trying to work out what made this door do that.
