Today, just as an experiment, I tried demoting myself! I went into my profile to modify my member group, and from the list of member groups, I selected "None"! That would mean I would have the status of a regular forum member! Post rankings and everything!
It didn't quite work. I got a post ranking but that was all that changed.
On a Proboards forum, the root admin is the root admin, regardless of what ranking is displayed underneath their username.
Maybe I should demote myself again and let the moderators run the board... then any new members who join will be like "What the...? There's no admin here??"

Muhahahaha.... aw. I suppose they would. Or they could go and look at the list of members and bring up the staff list. They'd see three Moderators, a Global Moderator, a stylist (Color Coordinator) and a Mini Admin... and right at the top of the list would be a regular member with a ranking of 3 red hearts and "The Ultimate Farmer" as a title. The reason I'd still be on the staff list is because although I'd appear to be a regular member I'd still have all my admin powers. But yeah... if people read this thread they'd know. Man...
Or... maybe I could move it to the staff room board... they wouldn't be able to see it there....

You could create another account so you can be normal, but use the admin one to make changes and stuff.

I actually do have two accounts on this forum. My secondary account (whose name is "A.A.") is used for testing new member groups. My secondary account has had status in the moderator, global mod, mini admin, color coordinator, and even administrator member groups at some point in time - just to test these groups out. Before I put anyone into any member group I always make sure they get all the admin functions I assign to their group. That's why I created the test account. One day people were wanting to change the forum colors, and I thought my only option was giving everyone admin status. But then the mini admin suggested that I make new member groups. So I did, and created the test account so I could try out the member groups before putting other forum members in these groups. I've never used it for posting though. All the posts I've made on this forum were through my admin account.

For those who are wondering how this works, I took some more screen shots. Do not worry, I edited out all email addresses and other things that shouldn't be shown on public forum threads. Pretty easy to do, but I think it might only work with Windows XP... Alt + Print Screen/SysReq. Open a paint program and press Ctrl+V to paste the screenshot. This is pretty much the step by step process of how I did it, and all you forum admins out there on other forums, feel free to try it too if you're getting bored of your admin ranking... ^-^ Went to edit my profile... ...by accessing the "Modify Profile" link at the top of the profile. And while editing said profile... ... I decided to put myself in the "None" group. And voila, my new profile, complete with post ranking. As you can see, my name is no longer in red text. This is the Info Centre at the bottom of the main page. My name is displayed in dark blue, signifying that I'm a regular member. What's weird is that according to the users online box underneath the words "Users Online", I don't exist. There are two regular members online but the table only says 1. And I'm not the Anonymous Farmer either because I checked their IP and it's not my IP address. The list of Staff Members. I'm a regular member, but my name is still on the list of staff. (Note: I know some people don't want to show their email addresses, so I wrote over them with text.) But even though I'm a regular member, I still have my admin functions. See the menu bar at the top of the screen...? And if you look at the part of the thread that's displayed, you'll see the topic is locked but the reply button is still there. So yeah, if you're the admin of another Proboards forum, it's totally okay to demote yourself if you want a post ranking. And you can always put yourself back into the Administrator member group, anytime. ^-^

Aw, thanks. ^^ Nice to have you on the forum. Hope you have a good time here. Yes, I have two accounts. The alternate account is for backup in case someone hacks my admin account. The alternate account would last me until I got a hold of the Proboards staff. They would be able to restore the admin account to me.

"The spinich pen" was one of the names that mariaesteed used when posting as an anonymous user. I do not know exactly what "the spinich pen" actually means. I'm assuming that it's something to do with spinach...
When you post as an anonymous user, you can use whatever name you want. However, the IP address of the post can sometimes reveal if the anonymous user has posted as a registered member on the forum before.
In case you are wondering who this is, this is Roku Megami. I'm too lazy to log in. ^^
