** I just want to let everyone know that this is my first fan fiction… So please bear with me and be patient.. This will probably take me a while each day per chapter.. Suggestions for the story is encouraged ^^ **
~*Chapter 1: In comes Jane!
“Jane! Breakfast!” called Mom. I sighed and got up and walked to the dining room. “Morning dear! I hope you’re in the mood for some ‘smiley eggs’ I’ve made today!” Said Mom.
“Sure, whatever.” I replied with a frown.
“Wipe that frown off your face! Today is a new day and I’ve always told you…”
“…Always start a new day with a smile” We said in unison.
“Yeah, yeah I know mom, but..” I said, starting to whine.
“I know you’re upset about going to a new school, so I thought I should tell you…”
“Tell me what?”
“After school, we’re going to visit your grandparents’ farm.. Grandpa said there’s something he wants to tell you this afternoon.”
I sighed deeply and just ate my breakfast. Right now, I wasn’t in the mood to hear what mom wanted to say. Before long, the school bus came.
“Bye mom! See you after school!” I called, as I picked up my bags and left.
“Bye hon!”
As I was in school, very few picked on me, asked me dumb questions, and laughed at me. “So much for hoping for a good start..” I mumbled under my breath. Finally, the bell rung at 3 P.M. Out of school at last!
“Hi mom, I’m home!” I called, as I placed my bags on the table.
“Hurry up and pack up, Jane! We need to go soon!”
I packed my stuff and got in the car with mom. Soon, we were off to the ferry that was set to leave have 4:30. We were finally onboard the ferry at 4:29 with only 10 seconds before it left.
“Glad we made it on time… “ Sighed mom, relaxing.
“Sheesh, mom, Why don’t you take your time next time?” I joked. Mom laughed and sort of hit me on the arms. “Oww! That hurts mom!” I cried.
“Don’t joke too much around your mom, then.” Soon, we arrived at a port with a crowd. As we got off the boat, some of them welcomed the people around us and mom pulled me to a quiet spot.
“Well Jane! Welcome to Mineral Town!” Cheered mom.
“Mineral What?” I asked.
“Mineral Town!” Mom then pulled me along until we came to a run down land that looks like a farm. Along the way, I saw a cute looking guy with a long brown styling hair, even though he looked depressed. I decided to go meet him later, if I get a chance.
“Wait right here, Jane.” Said mom, as soon as we reached a run down home. She went inside and came back about 5 minutes later. “Your grandpa wants to see you…” Mom looked as if she was going to cry, so I went in, leaving mom outside.
“Jane… Is that you..?” Asked grandpa. He sounded very weak and told me to come beside his bed.
“Yes grandpa. How are you feeling?” I replied, shocked to see him looking this way.
“At last… I haven’t seen you ever since you were a little girl… about 10 years ago…” Said grandpa.
“Grandpa, are you okay? You don’t sound so well.”
“I’m not… going to make it… Before I go… I want to leave… this farm here… in your hands…”
“I don’t know anything about farming!”
Grandpa smiled. “Your mother will help you… The town will.. Jane.. Lead a happy life.. I love you.. And I love your mom… Tell her…”
“Grandpa? Grandpa!” I was in tears and shock for a moment. Mom came in and hugged me.
“What are we going to do?” I sobbed. I don’t even know what grandpa meant by ‘lead a happy life’.
“I’ll… go get the pastor..” said mom, leaving me in the house.
