Time for another one of my famous tutorials. ^-^
(Ever since I learned how to take screenshots of the computer, I've taken a liking to writing these tutorials... They (hopefully) help people and give me an excuse to use the pictures I've taken.)
How to Get Your Signatures to Show Up.
For this example, I'll use the picture in my former signature - yeah, that one with Rick screaming at Kai. I've had that one up since... well, a very long time.
1. First off, get the picture ready to display in your signature. What I mean is... save it as a file on your computer. Oh, and try to remember where the file was saved, too. It helps later. ^-^
2. Next, you'll have to get an image hosting site to host your image. One of the image hosting sites I use is Imageshack. You do not need to create an account there.
However, if you are intending to use this image a lot, perhaps on other forums, I suggest using Photobucket. If you want to use Photobucket, you'll have to create an account there first. It's not hard, and it's free. ^-^ At Photobucket, you are able to save your pictures to an album, and access them any time you want to use them. This save you the work of uploading the same picture multiple times.
3. Once you've created an account at Photobucket, log in. You'll be taken to a screen where you can upload files or URLs. For now, I'll just talk about uploading files.
Use the "Browse" button (circled in the picture) to open up a window where you can search through the files on your computer for the picture file you saved for your signature. This is why it helps to remember where you saved the file... so you don't spend 3 hours looking for it.
4. Once you've finally found the picture file and opened it, the file location will appear in the "Image" text box on the Photobucket site.
Note that the file location which appears in that text box is not what you copy and paste into your signature. That just tells where on your computer the file's found.
For example, the file location for the picture in my signature is "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\kai.PNG".
That's not the same as the image code, which I'll get to eventually. Anyway, click the Submit button (circled in red in the picture) and it's a done deal - your picture's uploaded to Photobucket. (You don't need to enter anything in the Description text box)
5. Now that your file's uploaded, you'll notice 3 lines of text appear below it.
The first one's the URL. The second is the HTML tag. And the 3rd one's the image code. If you ever hope to get that picture into your signature, you'll want to focus on the third one, the image code. That's what's circled in red in the picture. Copy that image code (Ctrl + C), and head back to the forums...
6. Time to edit your profile.
(Click here for yet another picture)
For the purposes of this example I'm using my own profile. You would actually be doing this to your own profile, though... don't forget. Click on Modify Profile to access the screen where you modify your profile...
7. Scroll down until you get to where you edit your signature. You know that image code you copied from Photobucket back in Step 5? Paste it (Ctrl + V) into the signature text box... then go down and click on "Modify Profile". Done.

If you still can't get your signature to show up, even if you've followed the directions super-carefully... well... there is one thing you can do. If I can get access to the picture's URL somehow, or even to the web site where the picture is located, I can upload it to my own Photobucket account. Then, if you wanted me to, I could go and put it into your signature myself. Don't worry, I won't need an account password, I have global profile editing access, so DO NOT post your password anywhere!!
If you absolutely do not want me editing your profile (I will not edit people's profiles without their permission), there's an alternative. Once I upload the picture to my Photobucket account, I can create a new thread where I'll post the code which you can copy and paste into your signature. Or, I can PM you the code, either way works.
Hope that helped...
