Hey. It's joe from slycorps. How did you guys get all sorts of special member groups? I looked around my forum, but can't find the menu for it.

By default, there are only 3 member groups - Administrator, Global Moderator and Moderator. To get other member groups you have to create them yourself. The only person who can do this is the forum's main admin. They go to the admin area, and under the "Member Groups" category, they select "Create New Group". On the first screen, they make up a name for the group (i.e. "Assistant Admin" or something), decide whether this member group is staff or not, enter the group's color (optional), the number and kind of stars in their rankings, and whether or not they have limited powers (if they have limited powers, their admin powers will be restricted to the boards they are assigned to moderate). On the next screen, the main admin sets all the powers that this member group is allowed to have.
The reason only the main admin (the person with the username "admin") can do this is because the Member Groups category in the admin panel is locked to everyone else on the forum. When assigning colors to the group (which you don't have to do, it's optional), you use a 6-digit hex code. For example... the code for black is 000000 while the code for white is FFFFFF.
Note: If you're hiring moderators on your forum, DO NOT forget to give them their powers. A common problem with new forum administrators is that their mods or secondary admins don't have powers. To give them powers, you have to go to the admin area and select "Modify Group" from the Member Groups category. By default, the only person on the forum who has any admin powers whatsoever is the main admin. So by default, people in the Moderator, Global Moderator and Administrator group (besides the main admin, that is) have no powers at all - so do not forget to give them some or they'll complain.
