Jeez!
I am so annoyed!
I've always been hooked on the Sim games, ever since I saw the first game on the shelf of some local store.
I had just been playing the Sims 2, and was pretty happy with all the new stuff they put in there, until I heard rumours of their next upcoming expansion packs.
Y'see, I was happy with their Nightlife expansion, but they're making Uni expansions?! And Business expanison?! What The Heck?!
As much as I like the game, I believe that the creators are just pulling out half-baked ideas randomly. Okay, so Animal House was a good movie, but not a good inspiration to launch a new expansion based on university. Neither was having an expansion pack consisting only on jobs. Fun.
I've been waiting and hoping that they would AT LEAST make interesting and fantastical expansions. I'd love to play a Sims 2 version of makin' magic, and THAT was a wow-factor. I love to get a bit of mysticism and fantasy on my game characters, which I play more as story-building rather than playing God and setting them on fire.
The Makin' Magic pack was fantastic and well-made. It had great music, fun new activities and a cool designs on the architecture and environment. I could have imagined that it was a best-seller, so...WHY DIDN'T THEY MAKE A NEW VERSION OUT OF IT?!
That's why I'm so mad, they're not getting interesting in my opinion. I heard a graphic artist was given a job interview to help design new sims in the first game, but declined the offer when her found that he couldn't make fun designs of fantasy characters as he always did.
It's also pretty possible that human nature would be interested in the strange and alluring world of fantasy, so why didn't Maxis get the hint and get grooving on it?
Is it because they're afraid that they'll look like they're copying off Morrowind or Warcraft? I don't understand their hesitation...and probably never will. I'll bet by the time they realize it, the aliens would land first.
