Welcome to all members, veterans, and Anonymous Farmers!
This is my MFoMT fan forum, or my attempt at one, anyway.
(Note: Anonymous Farmer = g u e s t. Because of a dumb code which backfired, the g-word is replaced with Anonymous Farmer every time.)
~A "Brief" History of RMR~
The forum was started up on November 18, 2005. Back in those days, it was a plain, uneventful forum, with no members but the forum administrator, who knew nothing about being a forum administrator. When I opened the forum, I actually intended my username to be "ratiasu0380" and the forum name to be "Roku Megami's Forum". Turned out that my intended username, "ratiasu0380", ended up in the url of the forum by accident. The username I got instead, which I couldn't do a thing about, was "admin".
The day I opened up the forum, I spent the first hour or so of forum time learning how to use the administration area properly. I even managed to create a few boards. The name of the forum was changed from the default "Message Board" to "Roku Megami's Underground Anime Fan Forum".
A while later, I joined the Ushi no Tane forum as a member (Ratiasu_0380). As I started liking Harvest Moon more, I got the idea to base my own forum, which I hadn't touched for a couple of weeks, on Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town, which is my favourite Harvest Moon game ever.
So, I went back to Roku Megami's Underground Anime Fan Forum and deleted most of the old boards I'd set up on the day I'd opened the forum. I created some new boards in their place, and messed around with the default skin so that it looked more colorful. The forum was currently in maintenance mode, and had been since the day I started up the forum. I changed the forum name to just "The Underground Anime Fan Forum".
I continued modifying the forum, and by the beginning of January I decided it was ready to take out of maintenance mode and open up to members for the first time. I changed the name one last time to "Roku Megami's Ranch" (to keep with the Harvest Moon theme) and took the forum out of maintenance mode.
Members joined, posts were made, and the forum actually started turning into a real forum. More modifications went on and still continue to go on today.
To Potential Members...
-I'm trying to turn this into a great forum, so I'd really like it if people, well, join. You can't really discuss much or make really great RPGs if only 1 or 2 people visit the forum. Joining is really easy, doesn’t cost a thing, and takes maybe two seconds to do. Plus you get stuff that Anonymous Farmers don’t – post rankings, ability to PM members, access to certain parts of the forum which are off-limits to Anonymous Farmers, the ability to modify your posts… and that’s just some of it…
-Anonymous Farmers are able to view and post on most boards in the forum, therefore you're not required to register with the forum if you want to view boards or make posts. Only 3 boards are locked to Anonymous Farmers.
-I am also willing to affiliate people's forums. I'm sure there are other people who want to make their forums big and successful, and affiliating these forums on other sites helps.
-I constantly update the forum, too. I readily take requests and criticism, and I’ll make changes to the forum if people want me to. You can request any changes at this sub-board. Or you can PM me.
-I’ll also try to help with forum-related problems to the best of my ability. I’m no Proboards master or anything, but I am very familiar with how Proboards forums work. Can’t log in? Can’t get activated? I have a help board for asking forum-related troubleshooting questions here. There is also a list of frequently asked questions found here.
-I’d like it if people view the rules before signing up. I know the rules sound evil and intimidating at first, but really, the only time I really go hard on people is when they do something that violates the Terms of Service. I’m pretty lenient besides that, and as for banning, it’s not likely to happen often. I give plenty of warning if a potential banning is on the horizon. To date, I’ve only thrown one person out of the forum, and hopefully that number will not increase.
So, if anyone is interested in signing up, it’s really an easy process. I even have a guide for new members here if you don’t know how to sign up, log in or work with your profile.
And if anyone has any questions, do not hesitate to PM me or any of the forum’s staff. For those who do not have accounts, feel free to post in the help section of the forum.
Have a great day!
